I wonder if final impact on storage and peak flow remains same regardless of inflow location into a pond.
I have a dry (short detention) pond used for peak flow attenuation. Pond discharge pipe connects to an orifice through a pipe, say, Pipe 1.
One (new area's) inflow enters as inlet pipe outfall in main pond cell, and 2nd (existing area's) inflow pipe connects into Pipe 1, just upstream of orifice.
I wonder if the final impact on pond water level and peak flow is same if (i) we use above arrangement, or (ii) modify to have both inflow pipes entering pond as two outfalls in main cell.
